"The Real Fan's Music Site"
Welcome to my site. The idea may, or may not be new, but I have never found anything similar, so here goes. I have been fanatical about music for as long as I can remember, and have been collecting records for about 31 years now, (I am now 42). I started with 7" singles & then moved onto MFP albums (which cost about 69p). In 1977, rather perversely, I discovered progressive rock, rather than punk (that came about 3 years later), then heavy metal (I was lucky enough to be at Knebworth in 1979 to see Led Zeppelins's last ever performance), country, jazz, classical and most things inbetween. The only stuff that I really do not like is the industry manufactured pap - whatever happened to young kids rebelling against the music that their parents & grand parents might listen to!
My tastes at the moment do tend towards the late 60's & early 70's, acts such as Neil Young, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Byrds, The Band, The Grateful Dead, The Beatles & Free along with slightly more modern names as REM, Paul Weller, Radiohead & Gomez.
What I would love for this site would be that it could be ongoing, ever changing & growing, enabling anybody who has a real passion for music to write articles, essays, reviews, anything about the music that you feel deeply about - just email me on rob@photobob.co.uk & see your work posted up a few days later (please note that this is a fan page, not a criticism page).
